Our Comedy Benefit for Grow for Vets was SMASHING!
Even before the event, founders Pete Lamptey and Peter Story were hitting the airwaves on LA Talk Radio with The Sheena Metal Experience to talk up the Benefit...
Meanwhile, thousands of dollars worth of donations were pouring in to Hopegrown HQ and being split up into gift bags and combo baskets for our raffle and silent auction. All cannabis products were at least 18:1 CBD, making them legal and usable for all who attended the event...
Story and sales director, Dustin Arth, met with our host, Ngaio Bealum, in Sacramento before coming back to LA to regroup with the team at Busby's East...
Our poster soon went up at all our collectives and doctors' offices and we began promoting all of the generous donations across social media...
Click here to see a short promotional video we put together featuring our host and three of the featured comics...
Just hours before the event, Pete & Peter were showing their support for the canna-community at the 420 Games at the Santa Monica pier, handing out free vaporizers and inviting folks out to the Benefit...
The Hollywood party opened with a bang and was well attended. At Hopegrown, we pride ourselves in being a resource for ALL patients and it was wonderful to see so many families and people of all ages and walks of life joining us...
The night kicked off with great live music from The LA Hootenanny...
Guests perused the silent auction section which included a guitar signed by Metal legend, Marta Peterson, along with a pair of concert tickets and a meet-n-greet with Melissa Etheridge...
Following the music, Grow for Vets founder, Roger Martin, took the stage to welcome everyone and remind them of the mission of GFV and why the evening's festivities were so important. The mic was then passed to Ngaio Bealum who took the stage, donning a plum velvet suit, and brought the house down with a dynamite lineup of comics...
The incredible sideband, Stage Left, accompanied the night's festivities as guests were free to roam around, order food & drink, bid on the silent auction or buy raffle tickets. Informational booths were also present from our friends at The Higher Path collective, Women Grow, and Cannabis Career Institute. Later that night, one lucky winner walked away with both the guitar AND a limited edition Grav Labs Gold bubbler!
Bespeckled by the night's party lights, we looked back on what we had put together with a sense of accomplishment. Thousands of dollars were raised that will go on to help veterans in Southern California. We are so proud of the work being done by Grow for Vets and honored to be working for them. A special thank you goes out to all our volunteers and friends at Women Grow OC, OC Norml & Jamuh. We couldn't have done it without them.
